Kathryn Meier Kathryn (Kathi) Meier, PharmD, DABAT, FAACT. Senior Toxicology Management Specialist, California Poison Control System Clinical Professor of Pharmacy, volunteer UCSF School of Pharmacy
Dr. Meier is a Senior Toxicology Management Specialist with the California Poison Control System, San Francisco Division which is managed by the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). Her work provides consultation on the management of potentially toxic human exposures to the public and health care providers. She holds an appointment as Clinical Professor for the UCSF School of Pharmacy and teaches graduate professional students and health care professionals in the UCSF toxicology rotation and UCSF medical toxicology fellowship program. In addition to consistently contributing to new editions of Poisoning and Drug overdose, she has published abstracts, papers, developed educational programs and been invited to speak at national toxicology organization conferences. Dr Meier was elected to serve two terms on the American Board of Applied Toxicology Board of Directors and is recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology.

This talk will review the most recognized mushroom poisoning syndromes, examples of mushrooms currently recognized for poisonings, the mechanism of poisoning, and medical management of illness.


Past Fairs

The Mycological Society of San Francisco has been hosting 1 or 2 Fungus Fairs each year since 1969. Fairs have been held in San Francisco County, Alameda County, San Mateo County, and Marin County. Historical information is available about previous Fungus Fairs:
