Kathryn Meier Kathryn (Kathi) Meier, PharmD, DABAT, FAACT Senior Toxicology Management Specialist, California Poison Control System Clinical Professor of Pharmacy, volunteer UCSF School of Pharmacy
Dr. Meier is a clinical pharmacist and an applied toxicologist. For over three decades, she consulted on poison exposures and taught toxicology to UCSF medical and pharmacy graduate students in her role as a toxicology management specialist at the California Poison Control System (CPCS) and a professor of clinical pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Meier has published abstracts, papers, monographs, and book chapters on various toxicology topics. Professional organizations have invited her to lecture and contribute to continuing education programs. Dr. Meier has served on various CPCS committees, as well as those of the American Association of Poison Control Centers, the American Board of Applied Toxicology, and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. She is recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. Dr. Meier is a current member of the MSSF Council.

Severe Mushroom Poisoning

Dr. Meier will present the problems associated with severe mushroom poisoning from her perspective as the Senior Toxicology Management Specialist at the San Francisco Division of California Poison Control.  This presentation will focus on the most dangerous poisoning syndromes, mechanisms of toxicity, clinical aspects, and medical management.
